First victory over the quarter of a century
While preparing to the 6th round of the qualification stage last Wednesday Squadra Azzurra has played a friendly match against Uruguay.
Alas! Instead of such predictable battle of two top class teams we were watching the game in one gates – 3:0. Éder and De Rossi had scored each one goal and the first ball as the own goal was scored by José María Giménez. As a result Italy has broken long (since 1990) winless series against Uruguay and had gained such a great victory.
Modern football discrepancies
And so, what do we have? The opponent of the team of Giampiero Ventura in this control match was much more serious than in official forthcoming match of the qualification stage. And if 4 times World champions have scored 3 goals we can only imagine how many goals the goal scorers of Squadra Azzurra will score to simple and weak opponent – Liechtenstein.
The forthcoming match will be held in Udine at home arena of Udinese. And now our readers are interested in the squad of Squadra Azzurra.
And we can’t say any comforting news to the coaching staff of the guests as all goal scorers of Italy headed by Immobile, Belotti and Candreva are looking forward for scoring more goals.
