England – FA Cup
Match start: 18:30 (GMT+1)
English Premier League 2016/2017 tournament has already become a history. Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool had built up the quartet of the Champions League. The next championship of England will start on Saturday, on the 12th of August and the calendar plan of new championship will be published at the official website of EPL on Wednesday, the 14th of June at 10:00 (GMT+1).
But the official shutout of the current season will happen only on Saturday, 27th of May at the main football arena of England - Wembley Stadium during the final meeting FA Cup with such teams as Antonio Conte and Arsène Wenger. And that will be the most impressive final of the world oldest football tournament (1872) for the last 5 years after the final 2012 with Chelsea and Liverpool playing in it.
The team of Antonio Conte is getting prepared to the most decisive meeting at Wembley Stadium in the status of a new champion of EPL and, of course, it is dreaming about the golden double. By the way, the last time in one season it was Chelsea that became the champion and the holder of the national cup7 years ago in spring 2010 with the main coach of Bayern Carlo Ancelotti.
Since then all future champions of the Premier League – Manchester United (2011, 2013), Manchester City (2012, 2014), Chelsea (2015) and Leicester (2016) were not able to get both awards. And now Chelsea is facing really unique event.
As for the last quarter of a century since the modern Premier League was created in 1991 only three top class football clubs were able to make a golden double. It was Manchester United (1994, 1996, 1999), Arsenal (1998, 2002) and Chelsea (2010).
The team of Arsène Wenger is also motivated to win the FA Cup final. But for Chelsea the possible victory means complete leadership in the current season over all other top class EPL clubs, Arsenal is thinking about this match as the last chance. We remind you, that for the first time for 19 years since 1998 the gunners don’t have the Champions League berth:
1998-1999 – Arsenal, Manchester United;
1999-2000 – Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea...
Why are Cup finals such interesting? Especially, with participation of two top class clubs? As it is absolutely impossible to predict the future winner? And now, as Times, Guardian and other biggest British editions inform, the fans’ opinion is now 50x50.
But bookmakers have named the team of Antonio Conte as an obvious favorite of the forthcoming FA Cup:
Chelsea – 1,75, draw – 3,75, Arsenal – 4,50;.
Our tip: Both teams to score (yes) - odds 1,75 Bet365
