England – Premier League
Match start: 20:45 (GMT+1)
Traditionally the great majority of rematches and catch-up calendar matches had led this time to the situation when FA has to violate the rules and to point out two matches on the 10th of May, Wednesday. The match will be held between Southampton and Arsenal and Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid (the semifinal match of the Champions League).
It is quite possible that the informal approval for such shift in matches was given to FA. But now millions of viewers and fans are thrown into dilemma.
The team of Claude Puel
During the last 36th matchday of EPL Southampton in match against Liverpool at Anfield had earned one point. Paradoxical feature of this situation is that the team of Claude Puel doesn’t really need this point as any tournament motivation has already been lost. But the team of Jürgen Klopp with the loss of two points had appeared to become the shadow underdog of the Champions League race.
Claude Puel became the object of derision for the fans of Monaco. The point is that its last champions’ title 17 years ago in 2000 Monegasques had won with the coach who is now heading Sutton. And one year prior his moving to Lille Claude Puel had declared that without him Monaco will never become a champion.
The team of Arsène Wenger
During the match Arsenal-Manchester United the gunners had scored two answerless goals into the gates of MU and became at once the real challengers for the 4th berth into the Champions League, especially after the defeat of Liverpool:
Chelsea – 81 (34), Tottenham – 77 (35), Liverpool - 70 (36), Manchester City – 69 (35), MU – 65 (35), Arsenal – 63 (34) …
Now Arsenal has one more match to play against the hosts of St Mary's Stadium. And in case of their winning over absolutely unmotivated opponent the gunners will increase the number of their points up to 66 points. They will be ahead of MU and will practically catch Liverpool and Manchester City. But to achieve this the team of Arsène Wenger has to win over its opponents with the score 0:1.
Southampton – 3,50, draw – 3,40, Arsenal – 2,05;
