France: Coupe de la Ligue
Match start: 21:00 (GMT+1)
On the first Saturday of April the football fans and the bettors have got a great number of interesting matches. On the 1st of April there will be held the meetings between Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United at EPL, Bayern and Borussia Dortmund at Bundesliga, Lazio and Roma at Series A and Atletico Madrid at Premier.
But with due respect to all mentioned above football teams (even to a legendary battle between Liverpool-Everton) the central match of the first Saturday in April is the battle of two best football clubs of France. This time at the final of French League Cup.
Traditionally, every year two Cup tournaments are held in France - the Coupe de France and French League Cup. But here is one significant difference. In England the most popular is the oldest football tournament in the world – FA Cup. But in France the top football clubs prefer the Coupe de la Ligue more.
And that is why now we have got an amazing final. The current Coupe de la Ligue holder is PSG who had won over Lille with the score 2:1 last year. By the way, the team of Unai Emery is the most awarded six-time winner of this tournament (1995, 1998, 2008, 2014, 2015, 2016).
The road to Lyon final
This time the final match of the Coupe de la Ligue will be held not in Paris but in Lyon and that is, for sure, the most rightful place for the final match of the tournament. Prior to this match all the important matches of these two football clubs appeared for PSG to be home matches. During this tournament its current champion had won over Lille (3:1), Metz 92:0) and Bordeaux (4:1).
Also three final victories are gained by the team of Leonardo Jardim: Rennais (7:0), Sochaux (1:1 and 4:3 at penalty series) and during the semifinal with Nancy (1:0).
So, the show begins! Who is the favorite in the pair of such strong rivals? According to bookmakers this is the current champion of the country:
Monaco – 3,60, draw – 3,50, PSG – 1,95;
But let us remember that this season PSG has gained only one point during two calendar matches with the Monegasques.
28.08.2016 – Monaco – PSG – 3:1 (Moutinho, Fabinho, Aurier (own goal) – Cavani);
29.01.2017 – PSG-Monaco – 1:1 (Cavani - Bernardo e Silva).
And when you bear in mind the fact that at this tournament Monaco has won only once in 2003 it is obvious that the desire of the Monegasques to win is as strong as the wish of the big city club to become the four time winner in a row.
Our tip: Both teams to win (yes) - odds 1,63 10Bet
