The midfielder from Burnley Joey Barton confessed that he has made more than 1260 bets on matches, but FA has convicted Barton of making 1260 bets on football matches for ten years — during the period from March 26, 2006 to May 13, 2016.
Barton has admitted the guilt, and now he is waiting for personal hearings in disciplinary bodies, as The Telegraph reports. It is expected that the case of the midfielder will be considered in next two weeks. Barton hopes to avoid long-term ban on participation in football matches and also he hopes to help Burnley to avoid knockout from Premier League.
It has been found out during the investigation that Barton was making bets on matches of the championship of England, however the investigation should find out whether the football player was making bets on the games of his clubs.
Joey Barton became the football player of Burnley on December, 20th and has participated in the last six matches of this club. Prior to Burnley the midfielder has played half a year for the Scottish "Rangers” where there also were some scandals because of him. In particular, the football player has been disqualificated for one match for the fact that he was making bets. The punishment was rather soft as it has been found out that he was not making bets on the matches of his team."This is an investigation between him and FA, Burnley club does not participate in it. Barton knows our requirements, knows what we expect from him. When he has returned to our team, we knew that he has received a good lesson. Now we can only wait for the end of the investigation, we will hope, Joey will help us" — the chief coach of Burnley Sean Dyche has declared. The football player hopes to avoid long-term ban on participation in football matches.
