Google has made the decision to change the policy of Google Play Market shop and to lift the ban from mobile gambling. Initially, access will be opened for users from Great Britain and several other countries.
Access to gambling games will be opened for the first time in seven years. The company has introduced restrictions because of concerns that the Android system won't be able to cope with the corresponding age checks for loading the apps connected with betting and gambling games as SBC News reports.
The company has already contacted gambling operators, having reported to them about changes in policy and also having suggested to send applications for placing apps to Play Market. Besides, the companies will have to provide licenses for the right to operate in Great Britain and other European countries.
It is expected that access to mobile gambling applications will be opened in Great Britain in August. At the moment, about 50% of the gadgets market of Great Britain belongs to Android OS.
