Manchester United had no problems with Basel

Manchester United was dreaming about returning to the Champions League therefore the team of José Mourinho was focusing on a match of the first round of a group stage against Basel as the meeting had to be held "Old Trafford". The head coach of "the red devils" had frankly surprised the audience by the choice of football players for the defensive line. Ashley Simon Young was on the right. This football player was performing this season only for reserve team of Mancunians. In the center the link Victor Lindelöf – Christopher Smalling was working and they also didn’t plat this championship of England. It should be noted that Manchester United captain was Paul Pogba.

The weather was rainy in Manchester but such weather is quite normal for England. Despite the rain the team of José Mourinho on the second minute had managed to create the moment. After the corner Romelu Lukaku was able to take a ball from rivals’ penalty area and the ball had hit Manuel Akanji. The hosts continued to dominate but Basel was good in defense. Only the fourteenth minute brought the aggravation of the game by "the red devils". Juan Mata from the right side of the penalty area threw a ball in the center, however Henrikh Mkhitaryan sent a header over a crossbeam.

Paul Pogba's trauma became an unpleasant surprise for his team. The French midfielder has injured the dorsal surface of a hip and after a short medical pause it became clear that the football player won't be able to continue a game. Marouane Fellaini substituted the player and the captain's band was given to Ashley Young. Meanwhile, in the middle of the first half Manchester United had to take the lead. Henrikh Mkhitaryan was closing Romelu Lukaku's cross but undelivered from a close distance. The Armenian football player pursued rebounds, however after a series of ricochets the ball got into the hands of Tomáš Vaclík.

On the 35th minute José Mourinho's team took the lead Marouane Fellaini had fared. Ashley Young from the right wing made cross to gates and Marouane Fellaini who was playing instead of the injured Paul Pogba had made a header from a close distance! After that scored goal MU was playing more quietly. The football players were going for a break with the minimum advantage of "the red devils".

Lukaku

The starting piece of thesecond half was joyful for "Old Trafford", Manchester United could strengthen the goal advantage. The goal turned out to be very similar to the first one but with other heroes. Daley Blind made high-quality cross from the left wing and Romelu Lukaku’s header was perfect! In fact, this goal has killed an intrigue in rainy Manchester.

Shortly Lukaku was able to create a double. The Belgian forward responded to a cross from standard situation and sent a header – Tomáš Vaclík was amazing this time. Basel built the first qualitative moment in the middle of the second half. Elyounoussi in the penalty area had bypassed the defender kicked – David de Gea demonstrated excellent reaction. This episode became only an exception as for the rest of the time United owned an initiative. Ashley Young could score but after his kick from the middle distance Vaclík saved the team.

After the second goal the game on "Old Trafford" became rather boring. Marouane Fellaini shot from the right wing of penalty area, Henrikh Mkhitaryan couldn't kick but productive shot was made in a moment by Markus Rashford. Final score - 3:0. Manchester United had no problems with Basel.
