New details concerning the case of the fixed matches that were played in Series C during the season-2015/16 have appeared. In the center of scandal is Messina football club.

Strange matches were played during the period from December 2015 till May 2016. Messina is involved in all four matches that seemed to be suspicious. The suspicious activity was fixed in matches against Casertana (1:4), Martina Franca (3:0), Benevento (0:5) and Paganese(2:2).

The investigation began after a number of signals that came from Federbet — the non-profit organization which is specializing in identification of fixed matches in Europe. The prosecutor Francesco Massara headed the investigation.

Now the list of the suspected contains 30 people. At least five of them are the current football players. One name is known - Karmin Giorgione who is playing for AlbinoLeffe. Also the part of the teams’ staff and the members of the coaching staff are suspected as Tuttolegapro.com reports.

According to the investigators, the former famous football player - Arturo Di Napoli who was the coach of Messina in 2015- was the head of the criminal group that was involved with fixed matches. The investigation had learnt that there was a person with the nickname "King Arthur". Di Napoli had such nickname during his playing career.

Earlier Di Napoli was suspected in organizing fixed matches in 2016 and was disqualified for three years for participation in the organization of a fixed match between L'Aquila and Savona.
