Watford and Burnley surprise pleasantly the fans of the Premier League at the very beginning of a season. The team of Marco Silva after eight rounds takes the fourth place in the tournament bracket, having managed to draw already with Liverpool and to win over Arsenal.
Sean Dyche's team, in its turn, takes the seventh position. The Clarets won over Chelsea and Everton and made draw with Tottenham and Liverpool. We have to mention that all these were away matches. Ganbling&Sports decided to remember the last cases when rather modest English clubs had begun the season rather powerfully and to note where they finished at the end of the season.

A lot of was told about the fantastic season of Leicester and football fans will remember this story for many years. In autumn 2015 very few people could assume that Claudio Ranieri's team will win a title, and therefore its bright start surprised all fans. The first defeat Foxes suffered only in the seventh tour from Arsenal in a match which they approached being on the fourth place in the tournament bracket. The failure in game against Gunners, however, didn't upset Leicester. In the second half of November Claudio Ranieri's team climbed up the top of the Premier League and since then it practically didn't leave the first place. At some point it seemed that Arsenal will claim for the champion's title but Foxes at the end January bypassed the Gunners and till the end of a season didn't lose the leadership any more.

only Leicester demonstrated great results on the start of a season
2015/16. Crystal Palace was the other team which surprised the
football public. After eight rounds of that championship the southern
Londoners took the fourth place in standings, being behind the leader
with only three points. Perhaps the guest victory over Chelsea that
was a defending champion of England at that time was the brightest
point of season’s start for Eagles. Nevertheless, Alan Pardew’s
team didn’t go far. Palace began to demonstrate the most different
results and with approach of Boxing Day got stuck at all. Londoners
didn't taste victories in the Premier League from December 26 till
April 9, having scored for that period only five points by means of
draws. Fortunately, Eagles managed to improve their results and
didn't face serious fight for survival. Crystal Palace finished the
championship on the fifteenth position.
Final place: 7.
In 2014 Southampton was headed by Ronald Koeman and the Dutch expert continued the work that was initiated by Mauricio Pochettino about whom we will talk. Saints started in the championship with the defeat at Anfield from Liverpool, but then southerners won 26 points in eleven subsequent matches. After twelve rounds the team took the second line in standings, conceding only to Chelsea. The team of Ronald Koeman experienced some failures but they were short. Till spring Southampton was a real contender to get into the list of four winners however then Saints left a zone of the Champions League and didn't return any more. Finally Southampton took the seventh line and received the ticket into the European League.
Final place: 12.
The season 2014/15 turned out to be quite successful for "West Ham". In nine starting rounds the London team which was headed by Samuel Allardyce had scored sixteen points. Beautiful victories over Liverpool and Manchester City were adding some additional glory to the great start of the Hammerers. As a result, after nine games "West Ham" was at the fourth place. The London team didn’t stop. Almost before Boxing Day Allardyce's team was considered to be the challenger for getting into the Champions League. But dense winter calendar had its effect and the second part of a season the Hammerers frankly failed. The period since the end of January till the middle of March when "West Ham" didn't win any victory turned out to be especially bad. The team finished the championship on the twelfth place but at the same time got into the European League thanks to the rating of Fair Play.
Final place: 8.
Now Mauricio Pochettino is working successfully in Tottenham, playing in a draw against Real at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu . And he made his name in Southampton which headed in January 2013. The next season the team began just perfectly, having suffered only one defeat in eleven starting games of the championship. At that time the Saints took the third line in the table, and the lag from the leading Arsenal was three test points. But at the end of autumn Mauricio Pochettino's team experienced some failures and failed to win six games in succession. Southampton remained the strong fighter up to the end of a season and took the eighth place that became the repetition of the best result in the history of club.
Final place: 8.
fans of West Bromwich still remember the season 2012/2013 with
special feelings. The Throstles attracted attention from the very
first round when they crushed Liverpool with the score 3:0, having
saddened Brendan Rogers's debut. Steve Clark's team continued to look
very confidently and to score points steadily. In the middle of
November "West Brom" was marked out by one more loud
sensation, having won over Chelsea. After thirteen rounds the
Throstles were the third in the tournament bracket, being behind the
leading Manchester United only with four points. The winter calendar
became a stumbling block for Steve Clark's team – at the end of
December till the beginning of February any victory wasn't won in six
games. For the whole second circle of the Premier League West
Bromwich had won only four meetings, but at the same time it could
take the eighth line. The last round, as well as the first, turned
out to be bright for the Throstles – the white and blacks played in
a draw with Manchester United with the score 5:5 in a farewell match
of sir Alex Ferguson.
Final place: 5.
Having returned to the Premier League, Newcastle finished season 2010/11 only on the twelfth place, and therefore only few expected great results from the team. Nevertheless, the Magpies perfectly began the championship, having suffered the first defeat only in the middle of November in frames of the twelfth round. By that moment Alan Pardew’s team entered the top-3. After eleven games without defeats Newcastle got into a black strip and couldn't win six games in succession. But club colors clearly demonstrate that the black strip is followed by the white one. Alan Pardew’s team started to score points and in spring it gave the result of six victories, five of which were "dry". During the last four rounds the Magpies suffered three defeats and this fact didn’t let them to get into the Champions League zone. The team finished the championship on the fifth position, being behind Tottenham with four points. It is interesting that more than a half of 56 goals of Newcastle, namely 29, were kicked by Demba Ba and Papiss Cissé.
