Liverpool 1 - 1 Everton. To dominate - doesn't mean to win

Sunday football evening on the Foggy Albion included two big Derbies. The first one has taken place on Anfield where Liverpool and Everton were playing against each other. The team of Jurgen Klopp was strong, having scored 32 goals in nine last matches in all tournaments. But the Toffees with Samuel Allardyce 's appointment have seriously improved their skills. The team had won three last games with the general goal difference 9:0.

Jurgen Klopp has greatly surprised the public with the choice of a starting lineup. The German expert sidelined Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho and preferred Dominic Solanke and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Klopp had explained his choice saying that British feel the essence of this Derby much better. At the injured Alberto Moreno couldn't play in left line of defense at Liverpool and Andrew Robertson had taken this position.

Accompanied by snow Liverpool from first minutes rushed into the attack and the dangerous moment occurred. James Milner from the left corner of a six yard box kicked after a cross from the wing but the ball was caught by the defender. The team of Jurgen Klopp continued to pressure upon the opponent demonstrating unattractive football. Everton’s football players were behind the line of a ball and Sam Allardyce's players were building their rare attacks using long balls in the attack. By the way, the coach of the Toffees was using the earphone but it is unclear what information and to whom Big Sam could pass.

The Reds were able to realize their superiority in the forty second minute thanks to phenomenal actions of Mohamed Salah. On the right in rivals’ penalty area the Egyptian was able to cope with two opponents then he had made fine passing shot into distant nine! Before the break Liverpool had perfect chance to strengthen a goal advantage. Sadio Mané thanks to speed left Ashley Williams, having organized the patch to "three in one". The Senegalese ignored partners on the right and decided to shot himself but he didn't reach the far corner!

During the break Sam Allardyce let out Morgan Schneiderlin and Aaron Lennon but these shifts didn't change anything. Liverpool was pressing and created the scoring chance very moment soon. Mohamed Salah responded to a pass from the right done by James Milner and headed – the ball didn’t reach the target. A bit later the dangerous header was made by Joe Gómez. But also this time the football player from the Reds was lacking in!

Liverpool continued to attack, and Everton was only defending but the rare attack of guests in fifteen minutes till the end of full time brought them success. Calvert-Lewin appeared in rivals’ penalty area after he was pushed slightly in a back by Dejan Lovren. Craig Pawson appreciated an episode and surely showed on a penalty mark. The penalty was accurately scored by Wayne Roone who made a hard shot to the center of gates. The Reds rushed to the attack and theToffees moved back and defended a draw.

Liverpool shot the gates 23 times, Everton – 3. But you should search for a logic in football. The Merseyside Derby came to the end in a draw. Perhaps, Jurgen Klopp will be punished for the choice of a squad.
