Germany has beaten Spain in the final of the European Youth championship

On
the back of the Confederations Cup the European Youth Championship
fell back into the shadow. But on Friday evening the final match of
continental championship that was held in Krakow was in the center of
attention. This match had promised its fans a spectacular match –
Germany against Spain. Relatively recently, in 2008 the similar final
had happened on adult Euro. Then “La Furia Roja” won thanks
to Fernando Torres’s goal. Now young Germans were able to gain
revenge.

Spain
quickly took an initiative. This should come as no surprise, as “La
Furia Roja ” was a favorite of this final. The team consists of
Héctor Bellerín, Gerard Deulofeu, Saúl Ñíguez and Marco Asensio.
These are quite famous football players. Nevertheless, Spaniards
acted too academically, obviously going too far in short assists and
intention to act in style. Germany has managed to brace and created
the super moment – Max Meyer technically headed from just inside
the area against the post. Spain answered with header performed by
Bellerín – met the cross from the right but his header came wide
of the far post though visually the goalkeeper controlled everything.

Eventually
Germany possessed the ball most of the time. In the middle of the
first half Bundesteam has managed to create two more moments. At
first Serge Gnabry has taken low ball from the left and rifled a
volley into the side netting. Then Gnabry again kicked from penalty
area, but this time the ball is scuffed straight at Kepa. Closer to
the end of the first half Bundesteam took the lead. After cross from
the right wing Mitchell Weiser struck incredibly beautiful header, on
an arch having sent a ball from the region of the six yard box right
corner exactly under a far post!

Unusual
goal of Germany in the youth Euro final

After
the break the youth team of Spain rushed to attack, but the
resistance of the German team was serious and intelligent. Bundesteam
didn’t give its opponents the time and the space that they due to
active and high pressure. Sometimes football players of German
national team consciously were acting with their opponents harshly,
intending to enrage technical Spanish players. “” La Furia
Roja” had really a good chance in the fifty eighth minute. Saul
kicked from twenty meters from under the defender in the left corner,
but Yulian Pollersbeck made a save.

In
one of the rare attacks Germany could strengthen a goal advantage.
Serge Gnabry surged in from the left but saw his low shot blocked by
the boot of Kepa Arrizabalaga In the 72
nd
minute Spain had chance to tie the game. Daniel Ceballos hammered a
superb strike wide of Pollersbeck’s right-hand post. Soon Gerard
Deulofeu hammered from the middle range but ball met the defender.

Spaniards
hurried, and Germans in every way were trying to play for time,
without going at the same time to deaf defense. To a final whistle
the score 1:0 remained on a score-board. Germany has won the European
Youth Championship!
