Bookmakers: Haruki Murakami is the main favourite for the Nobel prize in literature in 2016


According to the price quotations the main favourite is Japanese writer Haruki Murakami.

The bookmaker Paddy Power allows to bet on 66 years old writer of the famous novels «1Q84», “NORUWEI NO MORI”, ” A Wild Sheep Chase” with odds 5,0.

The triple of favourites contains also Kenyan novelist and play-writer Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o the author of the novel “Bloody petals” and popular American writer Joyce Carol Oates (the novels “From life”, “Black water”, “Blondy”). To bet on their winning is possible with 7,0 and 8,0 respectively.

Top five of favourites is closed by the Syrian poet Adonis who is pretending to this award for quarter of a century but hasn’t receive it yet. He is famous as the author of the research “Sufism and Surrealism” about the impact of ancient mystic Islam branch on one of the leading artistic method of ХХ century. To bet that Adonis will get the award is possible with 11,0.

To bet on Astrian play-writer and screenwriter Peter Handke is possible with 15,0. He is famous because of his work with the popular German film director Wim Wenders. So, Handke has written the picture play to the film “DER HIMMEL UBER BERLIN”.

It should be mentioned that it is possible to bet on the American writer Thomas Ruggles Pynchon (the author of “Gravity’s Rainbow”) with 17,0 and the chances of the famous poet and musician Bob Dilan to get the Nobel Prize are 19,0.

Beginning from the 3rd of October the Nobel committee will be announcing the surnames of scientists and writers, politician who will receive the Nobel Prize 2016. The prize-giving ceremony will start on the 10th od December.
