The
number has grown by 2.9% and has composed £13.8 billion ($17.9
billion).
Turnover
of online –betting market has made £4.5 billion ($5.8 billion) as
it is reported by the Commission. Growth is recorded in all
gambling’s subdivisions except Bingo and national lottery.
In
total 106678 Britishmen work in
the sphere of gambling. 8.8 thousand betting shops are functioning
in the country.
At
the same time the Mirror has reported that the volume football bets
in Great Britain has made the record of £1.4 billion ($1.8 billion)
and the profit of bookmakers has made £333.4 million ($432.3
million).
We
should remind that recently football association of England has
disqualified the midfielder Joey Barton for 1.5 years for practicing
betting. During the period from 2006 till 2016 the midfielder has
made 1260 bets on football matches, having played for the English
clubs. The player admitted all charges and has received medical
treatment for a game addiction, and also has asked the British
football to reduce dependence on bookmakers.
