Germany has won the Confederations Cup

Germany
football world can be proud of its new generation. The youth German
team the other day has won the European Youth Championship and the
adult team has reached a final of the Confederations Cup practically
without any leaders. The opponent of the Bundesteam was Chile. Teams
have already met with each other at a group stage and then the match
ended with a draw. This time the draw outcome was unacceptable
because the aim was to get the main trophy.

Chile
has entered the game fantastically. The team of Juan Antonio Pizzi
has grabbed initiative and made an impression on fans. While losing
the ball Chile immediately was organizing high pressure and this fact
brought Germany to a nonplus. Sometimes, Joachim Low’s team couldn’t
link together several assists and that was noticeable with the naked
eye. The first dangerous moment came quickly. Arturo Vidal had kicked
from the shooting area but Ter Stegen saved the team.

The
South American team continued to dominate. Eduardo Vargas had a
chance, but the German goalkeeper did his job and saved the kick from
the middle range. And then unexpectedly German national team has
managed to take the lead. Marcelo Dias has made an awful mistake near
his own net, having literally presented the ball to Timo Werner. The
German forward met the goalkeeper and kicked the ball to Lars Stindl
who needed only to shot an empty goal.

German national team has managed to take the lead

Having

missed the goal, Chile rushed to the attack with renewed vigor. But

the team of Juan Antonio Pizzi didn’t manage to show good attack.

Germany was really better at the end of the first half. Leon Goretzka

had an excellent chance to strengthen their advantage before the

break. He met with Claudio Bravo but the goalkeeper of the national

team of Chile saved the ball. Until the end of the first half the

minimum advantage of Germany remained on a score-board.

After
the break Chile continued to attack but the no scoring chances
appeared at Marc-André ter Stegen’ net. Germany, in its turn,
didn’t want to keep the victorious result but tried to carry out
the attacks. Julian Draxler had an excellent chance to score. The
captain of Bundesteam had a cross-shot deflected wide after a
powerful run into the box.

The
less time was left to the final whistle, the more furious were the
attacks of Chile. In the 74
th
minute Eduardo Vargas shot from the middle range but Ter Stegen
saved his team. Soon Arturo Vidal kicked from the penalty area but
the ball flew over the bar. Prior to the final whistle Edson Puch had
an excellent chance but it turned to be another missed opportunity.

Chile
put pressure on Germany but the score 0:1 remained on a score-board.
Germany is the winner of the Confederations Cup!
