Date: on the 11th of April, 2019 (Thursday)
Match start: 03:30 (GMT+1)
Tournament: NHL. Play-off. 1st round.
On Thursday morning on home ice of the SAP Center the 1st round of the Western Conference will start by the match between San José and Vegas Golden Knights. The Sharks have spent rather stable season having become the most scoring team of the West together with Calgary.
The Sharks didn’t win the regular competition due to not perfect defense – only three teams among which we can name Chicago and two weakest teams of the conference Edmonton and LA Kings have seen the red buzzer behind their gates oftener.
Last year finalist of the Stanley Cup didn’t seem to be a strong force this regular season, nevertheless the Golden Knights have ensured the place in the knock out round.
According to the way Vegas has been playing its last matches (it has lost in 7 out of 8 final matches) we can assume that the players of the Canadian coach Gerard Gallant were searching for the most convenient rival from the West top-4.
Of course, Vegas was not able to ensure that at the end it will be Sharks but it happened as it happened. And the team from Las Vegas can be satisfied.
It starts with away match and is reaching it being in a status of a small underdog but it has all chances to gain the victory.
This is thanks to the reason that San Jose for Vegas is extremely convenient rival. Last year it has knocked the Sharks at the end of the conference and in this championship in view of preseason and regular tournament it has increased the number of its wins up to 4:2.
In official matches Vegas has lost twice, has won two games. The games were like this: home match 6:0 and away match win 7:3.
We don’t think that now they will score the same number of goals as the first match is always spent with increased responsibility but we think that the guests will be able to break not the most reliable defense of the rival for two-three times and win the match.
Our tip: Vegas won’t lose (Asian Handicap +0.5) – odds 1.68 Pinnacle
